Double the Joy: Sophie & Colt’s Happy Tails!
Sometimes the best adoptions are the ones that happen when you follow your heart.
On August 9, 2025, Michelle and her family came to GMPR with plans to adopt sweet Sophie. But during their visit, they met Colt — Sophie’s brother — a loving boy who had been patiently waiting for a family to choose him. It was instant love. Seeing how much Colt needed a home and how quickly he connected with them, Michelle and her family decided to open their hearts even wider and adopt both Sophie and Colt!
This wonderful family knows pugs well—they’ve had four since 2003, including two adopted through GMPR. Their children were especially excited to welcome young, playful companions, since they’d only experienced life with elderly pugs before. With Michelle working from home, Sophie and Colt will have constant companionship, plenty of playtime, and all the cuddles they could dream of.
Colt, who we’d been struggling to place, truly hit the jackpot. And Sophie, the little pug who brought her family to us, now has a forever home and her brother right by her side.
We couldn’t be happier for these two sweet pugs and their new family. Congratulations to Sophie, Colt, and Michelle's family — a perfect match times two!

Happy Tails for Lena!
Sweet little Lena, one of our adorable Pistol Puppies, has found her forever home! She came into GMPR with her siblings, full of puppy energy and ready to share love.
On August 9, 2025, Lena officially joined the Davis family, where she’ll be spoiled with all the love and patience she deserves. Her new mom, Peggy, is retired and has lots of time to devote to her new fur baby. She and her husband already share their home with Bear, a 5-year-old pug, who now has a new playmate! Lena will also get visits from her 1-year-old grandson once a week, so she’s sure to grow up surrounded by love (and a little bit of fun chaos).
The Davises are no strangers to pugs — they previously loved their sweet Rascal for 11 years and know exactly what it means to give a pug a safe, happy, and spoiled life. Lena will travel right alongside her family when they visit their kids, sometimes even riding in a stroller just like Bear!
We couldn’t be happier that this precious puppy has landed in such a caring, experienced, and pug-loving home. Congratulations to Lena and her forever family!

Rory and Sasha are a delightful bonded pair of 1.5-year-old pug sisters who are as playful as they are loving. These two girls came into rescue as the ultimate duo—full of quirks, cuddles, and endless zoomies—and now they’ve found the perfect forever home together!
Rory, the adventurous one, loves to show off her bed-jumping skills while Sasha prefers to ask for a little help (often with a whine and a cheeky game of keep-away). They wrestle, chase critters, shred a toy or two, and then curl up together in a cuddle puddle—sometimes right on top of each other. They’re friendly, social, and always happiest when close to their people.
On August 3,2025, Rory and Sasha’s forever family turned out to be Andy and Jane, who recently lost their beloved pug and knew their home wouldn’t feel complete without pugs underfoot. Having always had at least two pugs to keep each other company, they opened their hearts and home to this joyful pair. With two fenced-in yards to run wild in, Rory and Sasha can zoom to their hearts’ content. Best of all, Jane is retired and Andy is partially retired, so these girls will rarely be home alone.
The adventure doesn’t stop there—Rory and Sasha will also get to enjoy cross-country trips in Andy and Jane’s motorized RV, proving that the best things really do come in pairs.

Oreo is a 4-year-old black pug who won hearts with his gentle nature, playful zoomies, and love for porch time and long walks (he even proudly conquered a 2.5-mile stroll!). Sweet, mellow, and endlessly endearing, he loved toys, car rides, and spending time with his humans. He was crate-trained, great with dogs, cats, and kids, and quickly became a favorite with everyone he met.
Oreo has found his forever family with Ali and her family on August 3, 2025. Earlier this year, they sadly lost their beloved pug, Loki, and their hearts ached for the love only a pug can bring. Welcoming Oreo into their lives has filled that space with joy, laughter, and healing. With two kids to play with and a family who adores him, Oreo is exactly where he belongs—bringing light, love, and plenty of pug cuddles to his new home.

Hooray for Bella! She’s Adopted!
Sweet little Bella, our bouncy 9-month-old black pug, has found her forever home—and it’s a match made in pug heaven!
Bella will now be living the good life with her wonderful new parents, Alice and Steve, retired lifelong pug lovers who has opened their heart and home once again after saying goodbye to their beloved Kramer earlier this year. Though they initially thought they’d adopt an older pug, Bella’s irresistible charm changed everything—and we just know Kramer is smiling down, tail wagging in approval.
Alice and Steve have loved and cared for five pugs before Bella, so our wiggly girl is in expert hands. With a cozy dog yard, tons of snuggle time, and a calm, loving household, Bella is stepping into the life every pug dreams of—complete with porch lounging, doting humans, and plenty of treats (with moderation, of course!).

Our lovable Pistol pug puppy, Sig, has officially found his forever home! On July 12, 2025, this squishy-faced sweetheart was adopted by Christina and her amazing family, including two kids who were more than ready for endless puppy kisses and playtime.
Sig may be small, but his personality is HUGE—full of zoomies, snorts, and snuggles. Whether he’s chasing toys, curling up for naps, or following his new siblings around like a shadow, he’s exactly where he’s meant to be.
This little pug has gone from rescue to ridiculously loved, and we couldn’t be happier. Here's to a life filled with laughter, cuddles, and pug-sized adventures.

Lock up your hearts—because Ruger, one of our beloved Pistol Puppies, has officially been adopted! On July 12, 2025, this little pug outlaw found his perfect match in Crystal, and let’s just say… it was love at first snort.
Ruger may be pint-sized, but he packed a serious punch of personality—playful, curious, and full of charm. Whether he was wrestling with his pistol-pack siblings or melting into your arms like a warm biscuit, Ruger stole the show and our hearts.
Now, this squishy-faced sweetheart has traded the wild puppy life for the good life—with cozy beds, belly rubs, and a human who absolutely adores him.
From pistol pup to pampered prince, Ruger’s story is one of love, luck, and a forever kind of home.

Everyone, meet Chibi—our tiny tornado of joy and energy! This high-octane pug never slowed down long enough to be overlooked, and now he’s off living his best life with his new forever family.
On July 6, 2025, Chibi was officially adopted by the amazing Sara and her family, who instantly fell in love with his zoomies, snorts, and big personality packed into one small, squishy body. He now spends his days doing laps around the house, playing with his new siblings, and snuggling up for power naps (after he’s thoroughly worn everyone out, of course!).
And the fun doesn’t stop there—Chibi has already packed his tiny backpack and is ready for family camping adventures! Whether it’s sniffing around the woods, roasting treats by the fire (okay, begging for them), or snuggling in the tent at night, this little guy is ready to be the ultimate camping companion.
Thank you to Sara and her family for choosing adoption and giving Chibi the fun-filled, love-soaked life he truly deserves. We know this little guy will keep you laughing for years to come!

We’re overjoyed to share that on June 23, 2025, sweet Po, the lovable pug boy from Texas, began a brand new chapter of his life with Leisa and her wonderful family!
After making the long journey north in search of a brighter future, Po truly hit the jackpot. He now gets to enjoy the peaceful charm of his new home, surrounded by loving grandkids, playful pug siblings, and a family ready to shower him with all the cuddles and care he could ever want.
We’re so grateful to Leisa and her family for opening their hearts and home to Po and choosing to adopt. Because of you, Po’s days ahead will be filled with joy, companionship, and lots of tail wags.

We’re thrilled to announce that on June 23, 2025, the adorable and ever-handsome pocket pug, Frankie Boy, found his forever home with Sarah and her wonderful family!
Frankie is already settling in beautifully and has so much to look forward to—plenty of playtime with his new human sibling, snuggles galore, and even a few guest appearances in virtual meetings while his adopters work remotely from home. With his irresistible charm, Frankie is sure to become both a beloved family member and a fan favorite on screen!

From Drama to Dream Life – Beau Has Found His Forever Home!
Beau’s story had all the makings of a canine soap opera—testosterone-fueled drama, a love triangle gone wrong, and even a trip to the vet for a jaw injury. But as of June 16, 2025, Beau’s story officially has a happy ending—he’s been adopted by his perfect match, Dennis, and is now living his best life!
After leaving behind the chaos of his past, Beau settled into foster care and showed everyone what a true gem he is—sweet, patient, treat-motivated, and full of quiet charm. Though he once lived with other dogs, it became clear Beau thrives as an only dog, soaking up all the love and attention for himself—and that’s exactly what he’s getting now.
Today, Beau enjoys peaceful days with Dennis, car rides with the windows down, backyard zoomies, and plenty of affection on his own terms. No more chaos. No more competition. Just calm, steady love and a place to truly belong.
We are so grateful to Dennis for seeing the amazing dog Beau is and giving him the fresh start he deserves. Thank you to everyone who followed Beau’s journey and helped him find his forever.

Big news: Our 15-pound Texas cowboy, Tofu, officially found his forever home on June 14, 2025! Will & Colleen opened their hearts and arms to this charming 3-year-old gentleman who’s been winning everyone over since day one.
Tofu rolled in with all the confidence and sweetness you could ask for—housebroken, great with other dogs, and a total Velcro cuddle bug who snores like a little weighted blanket. He’s got that perfect mix of goofball charm and calm soul that melts hearts wherever he goes.
Whether he’s politely refusing crate time, enjoying car rides as a passenger philosopher, or snuggling up as the little spoon, Tofu is pure love and laughter wrapped in fur.
Now, with Will and Colleen, he’s trading cowboy trails for cozy beds and endless snuggles. His soft, potato-shaped soul has finally found its forever family—and it’s all the warm fuzzies from here.

On June 7, 2025, the dashing Mr. Bear found his forever home with Liz, Jonathan, Samantha, and Jonny, and let’s just say...... it was love at first tail wag. This handsome, distinguished gentleman waltzed into their lives like he’d always belonged (because, let’s be real, he did). A true turnkey pug, Bear settled in without missing a beat, and has already become a fan favorite at every baseball and soccer game. Forget peanuts and Cracker Jack, folks are showing up for Bear! Another one of our Breaking Bad Pugs has turned in her orange jumpsuit for a lifetime sentence of love, snacks, and couch privileges. Miss Pugnelope, the sweet-faced fugitive with a rap sheet full of charm, has officially found her forever with the legendary duo Deb & Bruce, seasoned rescuers with hearts the size of New Mexico. Bruce had always dreamed of having a Pug. But when you’re in the rescue world, you open your home to whoever needs you most, the broken, the battered, the ones no one else picks first. So, the dream stayed on the shelf... until now. Enter Pugnelope, with her signature sideways glance and undeniable sass. She slipped seamlessly into their pack of perfectly imperfect misfits like she’d been there all along, and just like that.......... Bruce finally got his Pug, and Pugnelope got her people. Our little Leela was adopted by her foster mom, Ali on May 28, 2025!!! Those of us in rescue often have a revolving door of pups we help, house, love, and send on their way to their happy ever afters. Each one leaves a mark and we send them off with a happy tear in our eye, knowing we need to let them go so we have a safe place for the next one in need to land. On May 10, 2025, Petey officially took over his latest empire, the home of Michael, Pam & future accomplice - young Beckett. One minute they were living a normal life, the next? Boom. Pug explosion. Snorts. Sass. Unrelenting charm. Petey rolled in with his signature swagger, manipulating them into surrendering their home and hearts because Petey is the one who knocks!! From early-morning snuggle shakedowns to a strictly enforced No Personal Space Policy.... Let’s just say… they never saw him coming. Their world has been turned upside down in the most glorious way!

Whether they’re plotting full control of the treat supply chain or backyard domination, these two are a match made in Albuquerque. Early reports indicate cuddles have doubled and snoring volume has reached cartel-level decibels. Dennis & Andrea can’t wait for all the “firsts” with their girl, and honestly, neither can we. Breaking Pugs Pup #2 Has Officially Left the Lab! Hello, witness protection, Lucy was "pinched" by Kelly, Mike, Beatrix & Nico on 5/4/25! This sweet little descendant of the Breaking Pugs puppy cartel has turned in her blue biscuits and is headed for a life of belly rubs, playtime, and probably a few “unauthorized” snack heists. Lucy joins a home full of love, laughter, and just the right dose of chaos, and much safer. She’s traded her lab coat for pajamas, her shady underground dealings for snuggle sessions, and her crime ring family for a real family to call her own. We’re sad to see another of our Breaking Pugs crew go, but our hearts are bursting knowing she landed right in the sweet spot. Kelly, Mike, Beatrix & Nico, thank you for giving this little rebel a chance to be a good girl. And Lucy? Don’t look back, baby girl. Your past may be shady, but your future is so bright! Miss BeaBea Has Officially Left the Building (On Her Terms, Of Course)...
After what felt like forever in foster care (don’t worry, she was running the place), our resident diva, BeaBea, has FINALLY found her perfect human match with Mary Anne on 4/28/25, and honestly? We should’ve known she was just waiting for someone extraordinary. Because BeaBea is no average pup, as a distinguished woman of the world, a retired Coach bag model, and a seasoned expert in the fine art of NOT settling..... She wasn’t about to lower her standards for just anyone. Nope. She waited patiently… poised, polished, and perfectly sure that her ideal person was out there. And then, like a plot twist in a rom-com, along came Mary Ann. Mary Ann had loved and lost her beloved pug, Jimmy. She let her broken heart heal before opening it up once more and spotted our little glamour girl, BeaBea. Checkmate. Let’s talk about a home that checks ALL the boxes: Retired – aka home all day to dote on the Queen. A nurse – a nurturing heart with healing hands. A hairdresser – BeaBea has her own savvy stylist to keep her sass and flair on point. We are pawsitively over the moon knowing BeaBea has landed in the lap of luxury and love. I mean look at this duo, right off the cover of Dogue or Vanity Fur.. It’s a match made in sassy, classy and you bet your a$$y heaven... BeaBea, we knew you were special. Ricky (now Sheldon), our first little Breaking bad puppy has officially been adopted and he's cooking up a brand-new life with none other than GMPR alumni Donna & Michael! On 4/26/25, Donna & Michael opened their hearts, again, and Sheldon will be joining their well-established pack of furry misfits, lovebugs, and couch hogs. From questionable beginnings to happy ever after, Sheldon's transformation is about to go full Heisenpug. We’re a little teary seeing our first Breaking Pug puppy head out into the world… but they're happy tears knowing the best is yet to come for these little guys... Esme (now Mila) Found Her Match... and Then Some on April 24, 2025! Don’t let the “technically blind” thing fool you, Mila (formerly Esme) sees everything that matters. Like love. Playtime. And the exact moment you open a cheese wrapper from across the room which she can pinpoint with precise skill. Mila knew exactly what she wanted in her forever home. A cozy place with a playful pup to spar with? Too basic. This girl held out for TWO worthy playmates, and boy did she cash in with Jeeves Maple. Now, you might remember Maple, a GMPR alum who came to us utterly over it. After having NINE puppies in foster care (that’s right, NINE), Maple was giving off major “I’m retired, don’t touch me” energy. She was spicy. She was picky. And let’s be honest... she did not show well. But then along came Melanie, Jeremy, Molly & Jack, a family who said, “Challenge accepted.” And they didn’t just meet Maple where she was, they helped her bloom. Now, Maple is playful, joyful, and finally free to be the quirky queen she always was underneath all that exhaustion. So what did this now superstar alumni family do next? Oh, just casually level up again by adopting Mila, our brave, spirited, and surprisingly agile little girl who doesn’t let blindness slow her down one bit. With Maple showing her the ropes (and occasionally laying down the law) and Jeeves covering her six, Mila is living her best life! Full of snuggles, sass, and some truly epic zoomies.
To the amazing Melanie, Jeremy, Molly & Jack — thank you for believing in the ones who don’t “show” well, but shine once they’re home. From the moment they waddled into rescue, Tater and Tot were a matched set, by choice and heart. And now, we are beyond thrilled to share that these two brothers in arms (and charm) have been adopted together by Bonnie and Theodore on April 7, 2025! Tot, the bold one with the “let’s go!” attitude, has always led the charge. While Tater, the gentler soul with an old-soul gaze, prefers to watch his brother take the first leap, then follows close behind, always trusting that Tot’s got this. They’ve been through it all side by side: the confusion of rescue, the comfort of foster care, and now the joy of a home to call their own. In Bonnie and Theodore, they’ve found what every dog deserves.... safety, devotion, and a couple of humans who see them not as a pair of pugs, but as family. These boys are already settling into their happily ever after, stealing hearts (and couch cushions), and soaking in the love like they’ve always known it was meant to be.

This little guy is headline material! Bold, underlined, and center stage. Today, we’re thrilled to share that Footnote has landed himself a starring role with his brand-new family: Sean, Zoriah, Bea, and Thalia - a fabulous Frenchie who was once part of a bonded pair with her beloved Flynn. After some time to heal, Thalia was ready to see if a new pup might fit into her heart... and wouldn’t you know it? A match was made on April 6, 2025. Footnote passed the vibe check, the cuddle check, and the Frenchie co-star check with flying colors. Now he's living his best life as a beloved companion, no longer an "extra", but the main character in his new life story about healing, love, and second chances.

Known by many names, but today, we just call him home. This unforgettable little character has officially found his happily ever after with Brian, Paula, and his new ride-or-die brother, Skinny Pete on March 29, 2025. And let us tell you, we are obsessed with this match. Like, full-heart, teary-eyed, grinning-ear-to-ear obsessed. Capone didn’t just find a home; he found his people. The kind of people who saw past the wink and straight into that big ol’ heart of his. The kind of people who didn’t blink (pun intended) when it came to giving him the love, care, and devotion he truly deserves. Skinny Pete? Already smitten. Brian and Paula? Completely wrapped around that one-eyed little paw. Us? THRILLED. Like, jumping-up-and-down-thrilled. This is the kind of placement we dream about. The kind that makes all the hard work, sleepless nights, and vet bills worth it. The kind that makes you believe, really believe, that there’s a perfect family out there for every dog. Some dogs wait, some dogs hope....Ted? Well, Ted struck gold on March 28, 2025. This sweet little charmer found his forever in record time thanks to a family that knows exactly what rescue magic looks like. Bill, Janet, Jackson & Aubrey are no strangers to the GMPR family, they gave one of our precious pups the happiest of happy ever afters all the way back in 2011. And now, in a beautiful twist of fate, their hearts (and home) grew just a little bigger… again. The moment Bill met Ted; it was game over. No hesitation, no second guessing. Bill let no grass grow under his feet and jumped in the car to adopt Ted the very next day!! Pure “this is our dog” energy. Paperwork signed. And just like that, Ted was home. We love enthusiasm around here, and we especially love it when our amazing adoptive families can’t wait to start that happy ever after chapter.... And with Ted now soaking up the love, snuggles, and probably a few extra treats, we know his story is only just beginning. Today, we're thrilled to share that our sweet little man has found his forever after with Michele, his person, his snuggle buddy, his biggest fan on March 25, 2025. Ozzy now has exactly what his heart was longing for......A couch to call his own (with a lap attached!)...A cozy bed to curl up in every night... And a mom who absolutely adores him.. From a life of breeding to a life of being cherished—Tootsie has officially found her happily ever after!
This sweet girl came into GMPR after spending her past years as a breeder pug, but those days are now far in the rearview. Thanks to the love and kindness of her new mom, Winnie, Tootsie is stepping into a future filled with all the love she always deserved. No more kennels, no more litters, just sunny days, warm laps, and happy tails from here on out!

Winning over his new sister, Co-Co. She was on the lookout for a worthy playmate, someone who could keep up with her sass, zoomies, and high standards. Enter Reggie: confident, charming, and totally up for the challenge. Spoiler alert: He nailed it. Now these two partners-in-paw spend their days ruling the roost with Cynde and Albert gloriously wrapped around their little furry paws. Whether it’s playtime, snuggle time, or time to beg for just one more treat, Reggie and Co-Co are soaking up the love and living the dream.

Bodhi now spends his days basking in the glow of adoration, wrapped in love, belly rubs, and likely a very well-curated selection of cozy blankets and fine cuisine (as any gentleman should be). Sweet Mugsy, a 9-year-old distinguished gentleman, came into our rescue when his previous owner could no longer provide the care he needed. But today, we get to celebrate his happily ever after on March 20, 2025!
This lucky boy has found the perfect home with GMPR Alumni Kristy, David, Brandon, Bradley, and Bentley! After the heartbreaking loss of their beloved Bella, they were searching for a companion for Bentley, enter Mr. Mugsy....... We know no one could ever fill Bella's shoes, but we're so happy to pay it forward in honor of Bella by offering Mugsy a chance at his happy ever after too... Now, he’s living his best life surrounded by love, snuggles, and a family that truly understands the magic of rescue. We couldn’t be more grateful to his new family for opening their hearts once again and choosing adoption. Thank you!! And enjoy your new adventure, Mugsy!

We're so pleased to report that our little Thunder from down under, Texas that is, found his happy ever after with Aaron, Jenn & Mocha on March 19, 2025!
Mocha lost her bonded mate not too long ago, and Thunder has been in SEVEN foster homes in his short 1+ years. Both were feeling a bit defeated at the hand life dealt them. Aaron & Jenn were hoping to introduce these two and see if a match could be made, and was it ever!!! Like peas and carrots, like two peas in a stubby-legged little doxy pod... With this new leash on life...... the clouds have parted, the sun is shining, and all are looking forward to each day being better than the last... We're happy beyond measure to join these two souls, thank you Aaron & Jenn for giving Thunder AND Mocha their happy ever after......

Taz came into rescue ready to find a family to call his own, and he couldn’t have picked a more perfect one. Now, he gets to enjoy all the snuggles, zoomies, and adventures his little pug heart desires. Our classy little lassie, Sassy, has officially found her forever home with Alumni Sara & Tom and the one, the only, Mickey on March 14, 2025!
Mickey has been living the good life as the only pug princess for a while now, but she was on the lookout for the perfect partner in crime to share her puggy adventures with. And who better than Sassy, the spunky, sweet, and oh-so-sophisticated little lady who stole everyone’s hearts.. From the moment they met, Mickey and Sassy were two peas in a pod—snorting, zooming, and plotting their next mischievous escapade. We just know these two are going to be the ultimate dynamic duo!

When Shy, a 3-year-old mini-Aussie, came into our rescue, she was one of the sweetest, most breathtakingly beautiful souls.... but also one of the most fragile. Fearful and unsure, we worried she might never fully let her guard down and experience the love and joy of being a cherished family pet. Fast forward to today… and WOW, what a transformation! Shy has found the most incredible family, and as if fate had a hand in it, they already have a mini-Aussie, Oakley! From the moment they met on March 14, 2025, it was an instant bond—two kindred spirits ready to take on life together. Now, Shy is thriving!! She's owning that mountain by hiking trails, making new friends at doggy daycare, and even enjoying trips to the groomer! She’s learning that the world isn’t so scary after all, and with her amazing new family by her side, she is finally living the life she was always meant to have.
To Shy’s new family, thank you for believing in her and giving her the love, patience, and security she needed to bloom. Our hearts are full knowing she has found her perfect match.

When Emma & Anant were searching for the perfect companion for their beloved Lady (who recently lost her best friend, Barney), fate led them straight to this dashing gentleman. With his strapping good looks, impeccable pug charm, and heart of gold, Rock was more than happy to step up for the job. Now, Rock is living the dream, splitting his time between his country estate and penthouse in NYC with his lovely Lady by his side... While no one could ever replace Barney, we know that it’s never too late to make new friends, and Lady has found a wonderful new companion in Rock. Big news from the snowbelt! Kiara & Rubble, now Emmentaler and Pierre Robert, have officially found their forever home with Nancy, Andrew, Charles, and Lilith on January 12, 2025! These 8-month-old Pugaliers are settling in beautifully, and by beautifully, we mean bounding through 3-foot snowbanks like tiny arctic explorers on Everest!
Emme is absolutely obsessed with the snow, launching herself into it with reckless abandon. Pierre, on the other hand, has assumed the noble role of Family Guardian, keeping careful watch over the neighborhood from his strategic command post—the back of the couch looking out the front window.
We couldn’t be happier for this wonderful family and their snow-loving pups! Wishing them all the love, warmth, and endless snowy adventures ahead! We can't wait to see what warmer weather adventures bring!
